Description

Hi to all, old friends and new. It has been awhile since I posted a new image here - now three shots together ( sorry about the scrolling ). The title refers to the day and the longitude. It was taken from The Royal Observatory, Greenwich. It is a fascinating place if you have the opportunity to visit anytime don't miss it. Everything from 4.5 billion year old stardust to the latest atomic clocks to marvel at and touch. Well the image is taken from outside the observatory looking across towards the city of London. On the far left you can just see a tiny piece of the brickwork of the observatory. In the distance left is the PO Tower, moving towards the left centre you can see St Pauls Cathedral and the office blocks of the city. Those familiar with the place might make out 23 St Mary Axe and Tower 42. The white building in the centre is the National Maritime Museum, formerly the The Royal Navy College. In the distance right are the towers of Canary Wharf and Londons regenerated docklands, far right is The Dome now the O2 arena one of the best large gig venues in London, it hosts all the biggest names including The Led Zepplin comeback gig. Thanks for looking, I always enjoy reading your comments . Richard.

I'll give a little latitude on the title. I mean longitude. Nice stitch!

Good to see something from you Richard. No scrolling for me, people just need to get wider monitors. ;'] Seemless stitching here and a lot of detail to take in, thanks! Were you on the "Black Mountain Side"?

Greetings Richard, First off let me welcome you back after a very long absence and I do hope you will reverse this trend. One of the first things I thought of was that during the winter months when it snowed, this hill would make a great place to takes ones board and go downhill but then when i saw this image in full view, there was the fence and there goes that idea. When viewing British architecture my heart always takes an extra beat because i love seeing history so well preserved and honoured. This is especially evident by the BBC productions of Masterpiece Theater and their Mystery productions, much of which is filmed at old estates. Thank you very much for sharing. egmont

A seemless panoramic vista Richard!! The thing that amazes me more than anything about this picture is just how few people there are??? That surprises me but hey, it makes for a better shot for you LOL!! A brilliant shot. Good to see you posting, although I myself have been a little absent of late too!! Hugs xx

Quite a spectacular panorama, the depth is very apparent- perhaps because of the vantage point and how the landscape sort of dips in the middle - perfectly framing this. Beautifully tack-sharp as well!

It's so good to see you back online and in action! Your beautiful images have certainly been greatly missed and sought after. This panorama is exceptional; you've put together and composed a wonderful scene; with extremely lovely and flawless quality. The POV is delightful, and so much to see and wonder about such a graceful looking landscape and place to live! Fantastic capture!
