Description

Some day I'll get bored with the way light interacts with glass. Ha! Okay - maybe not quite yet. Look at this in full view, and notice how the light picks out the raised letters on the jars, how it forms streaks and curves, how it fairly dances! Without light, there would be no photography. Light is the most basic tool we have as artists. Light not only illuminates, it's also what defines shape. ... and you thought they were just jars. I bet you didn't know they were a soapbox, too! LOL! .......... These jars were ALL full of home-canned green beans at one time, and I ate 'em all myself. Yum yum!

Well, you might, I guess, but I don't think anyone else will, not with wonderful images like this! The various shines, the reflections and the details are all gorgeous! You certainly have a knack of making the ordinary into something magical!

I just have to agree with both PJ and Carin, these jars are not made for boring beans, but for Strawberry and Raspberry jam, jelly to you, maybe some Blackcurrant and Plum or even Marmalade(Paddington Bear would come). They are made to be filled with orange and red and purple(just look at the colours reflected here) not boring green beans. Roflmao. Can you tell I don't eat green beans? A spectacular image Tara, and without light there would be no photography, for it is refracted light that we capture. And you have done that quite magically here I might add. I also like the colour of the shelf/table/ worktop that they are standing on, the reflection of this in the glass jars is quite tantalising. It's quite amazing really how a few glass jars can set off a merry-go-round of differing thoughts from people around the world. Sterling work young lady, keep it up. Bravo!!!!!

Well I think I have a few of these around, cause gone are the days of standing over a hot bath in the middle of August making dill pickles wondering what the heck I was doing lol. Love the sparkly shine coming off of these empties.

Excellent portrayal of the mainstay of most, if not all, home canning efforts: the Kerr jar, without which I would have never enjoyed my mother's peaches, pears and pickles. Terrific myriad of relections in this shot, Tara.
