Description

morning all :o) still trying to sift my way through 200 pics from the wedding so this shot was from a few weeks ago when june and me went for a walk in the countryside .again i`m not sure what type it is other than its fungi :o) why i was uncertain of yesterdays pic is because it was a lot taller than normal dandelions roughly 4 foot and a different colour than the other one i posted as the clock pic . thanks for looking and take care . mick

Great capture Mick! When I was in high school I had a friend who did oil paintings on fungi, on the shape of this one I can see a lighthouse perched high on the rocks.

Gosh! Bizarre! It's like something from a horror movie, and I can see an angry face. It's a very striking image, Mick, and the colours are great. As regards yesterdays pic, I saw the same thing in someones garden recently and had no idea what it is, but 'chicory' keeps crossing my mind, it is in the same family and is the right height, I might do a bit of gooogling.

I think it's called Horses Hoof, which fits in nicely with your prevoius uploads of your sisters horses! This is a great plant to use in British survival techniques - while it can't be eaten it is very useful in firelighting and smoulders very slowly from contact with an ember meaning you can carry it and take your fire with you to a different location. Excellent capture Mick!!

This is one of the things I miss from my walks in the woods Mick, all the different types of Fungi that you find both on the trees and round the base of them. On the fallen trunks that a rotting away as well. Excellent capture here Mick, you don't give us a size guide though, approx size in inches would be great. I would guess at 8x4 looking at the bark of the tree. I have done a bit of searching but cannot identify it at this stage. A very good image of it though. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Such wonderful textures! I love the smooth, lumpy surface of the fungus against that beautiful bark. Nicely seen, and an excellent photo!

How something so truly ugly can become so beautiful with a camera~~~aren't we lucky we see things so differently from the rest of the world!!! Course there are those who might think photographers are crazy, but, well, all I can say is, "poor them"!!!!
