Description

My female figure is looking at two concept cars from her 1932 attire perspective. In 1932 air racing on closed courses was beginning to exploit things learned by the NACA as it worked it's way to speeds over 200mph and approaching 300mph. The Japanese auto industry was emerging from knitting mills. Sometime in the 60's designers began to cut off the long streamlined tails of the W30 Mercedes and AuroUnion record cars to a Dr. Kamm theory. They also began to exploit ground effects (GEM)especially in CanAm racing. The true GEMs with ram wings and lift fans were trying for lift, these were trying to cancell lift and learned to keep air from going under the car and to vent it if it got there. The Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) was at first a way for Japanese importers to get around restrictions in quota form by certifying a vehicle as a truck based on it's body type. The Suburu Brat is a prime example. Later US manufacturers moved into the SUV market from minivans and offroad conversions of pickups. I could pickup from the red car and make a Lola, Ferrari, Porsche or Chapparall but that would require details I don't wish to retain. I could make my SUV anything from a Lexus to a Cadillac and down to a Suzuki or Saturn. The whole segment is being shunned right now. For 50 mpg one needs only to look at Mobil economy run winners as well as solar racers. Each configuration takes years to develop. Here I am only interested in how code and digital memory can accomodate this. These are successful samples. If they seem too blended or too generic at least look at their diversity. The KammGEM .3ds import failed so it is na .obj while the SUV was imported as several .3ds and combined to have openning doors and hood. (no hatch yet!) Early renders failed so I had to begin with draft and work to shadows, RayTrace and rename one shoe so it would not keep falling off everytime it stored. PoserPRO has it's central application interchange which probably has some common approaches to memory and processor use that I am not privy to.
