Description

This little black caterpillar (about 4cm long) is brought to me by our neighbours daughter. After a few hours she becomes to a puppet. I hope, I be able to shot the butterfly hatching from the puppet. I will share, if I get some pics form the metamorphosis. Thanks for taking time to look, comment and rate. Greetings

What an interesting caterpillar. Is it unpleasant to the touch as those "hairs" on the back suggest? Excellent photos.

Fantastic, Markus! I have been returning almost daily to the site of my photograph of a whole group of these Peacock caterpillars in the hope of finding a pupa, and haven't yet seen one. But I am SO pleased you got these shots, because I shan't feel disappointed if I don't find them. Thankyou!! (not puppet, pupa for single, pupae for plural!)
