Description

Welcome! I was hoping you'd come. In this view, you enter under an archway of Adelaide D'Orleans rambling roses, and are looking across the west end of the patio. In the long perennial bed in front of the cedar fence, (and this is less than half the bed), you can see, from L to R, the Apricot Nectar Floribunda rose, Veronica, blue Campanula Persificola, a newly planted deep blue Lupin, the gap where I just cut back the Oriental poppies (ruined by the rain this year!), red Geum, white-flowered Beard-Tongue Penstemon, a variety of Aquilegia, and a pink Phlox, waiting to bloom. Still in its pot waiting for a permanent home, is the deep pink Lupin. Growing through the side panel of the arch on the left is a lovely purple and white Penstemon called Phoenix. There are at least 3 Clematis along the back fence also, (in this view), but they are a) too far away, and b) in between bloomings! I'm pleased you came to visit. (perhaps I'll serve cream teas next time) PS. I think I should explain 'Cream Teas'! LOLOL! It is basically a light afternoon tea, during which you may drink tea of any kind, or coffee if you prefer or any cold drink. The best part is the freshly made scones, served with clotted cream (you have to try it), and fresh strawberries! PPS There are no clots in clotted cream! Sorry you were misled PJ!

Thank you for inviting me in to view your garden. It is a most pleasant sight and I can almost smell it. What a beautiful garden you have. Thank you for the invitation to return. I will come and enjoy a sip of cream tea - it will be a first for me.

This is very pretty and so well presented. I have a couple shots of my garden (only about 1/4th of it can be shown unless I'm doing a collage and even then it would only be the back garden) that I am considering posting. Seems it changes in appearance from day to day though so I can't decided which shot to post and when. :-) I love your trailing rose arch. How beautiful. I don't eat clotted anything, nor anything that is listed as fungus or actively fermenting...something about ingesting living organisms bothers me, but I'll be happy to bring my flask of gin and a nice bottle of soda to mix while you sip tea. :-)
