Well, I couldn't help it!
After work today, and then my one hour drive home, I stopped for my usual iced capuccino, and this incredible, triple, gorgeous delphinium was calling out to me!
It was saying, "Look, I'm a triple! See how I'm a lavender colour mostly, but my outer petals are baby blue? See how some of my lavender petals are striped? See how even my creamy white bee is tripled and frilly?"
Well, I'm sure you would have done the same!
Brought the poor thing home and made it part of your family too! The full-sized view is ok, I think!
Maybe there's a group I should join?

Oh, wow, your delphinium plants are as widespread as the agapanthus are in my neck of the woods, Chris! I would love to have delphis around here to photograph. Stellar POV, mauve colors and textures in this plentiful flower bouquet composition, my friend.

LOL! I saw the title, and I just KNEW you hadn't taken that photograph at the nursery and then toddled on home! Personally, I think the iced cappuccinos are just a ruse. :)

This is the absolutely BEST delphinium shot I've ever encountered. Those blooms are tough to get clear, clean, in decent form and with such feeling.

Wow!!! We had delphiniums years ago, but they were much darker, bluish purple, and I honestly don't remember that blue steak in the petals. This is beautiful!!!
