Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

excellent capture Marylin, its hard to tell because he's partially covered but i think its a croc, his muzzle seems narrow at the tip more then a gators would be, but i'm not totaly sure.

I agree Sap! Marilyn, your picts are superb but I am mot OK for this because it's for take his skin and it's NO GOOD and LEGAL! Ahhhh a bag or shoos in croco, of course but .... poor animal!

I can't tell you if its a croc or a gator Marilyn but its big, strong and has sharp teeth, thats enough to keep me away from him. I saw a vid on youtube a couple of weeks back, a youngish japanese boy doing tricks with a croc, the fool hit it with a stick and then put his hand in its mouth. No the croc didn't eat it, but it did rip it off his body and left it laying on the stage area whilst he ran off with his assistant holding a towel to his socket. I laughed my head of at the stupid jerk. That was pay back for him rapping the poor croc on the snout. A great set of pictures here, also intruging, what was this doing in the parade? These three blokes with their uniforms look like law enforcement or forestry commission chaps. Why parade a croc through the center of town when the sun is shining down like this. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Great series of images... What fools to have a damn croc in a parade!!! They must have had their reasons!!! (Windhoek was great and I just arrived back home a couple of hours ago!!)

A super Tail/tale!

I cannot help but think he was a snack and not got a snack...and he's probably happy traveling about the world on someone's feet of as a wallet in a back pocket... he is stellar. My gut thought is this is a gator. But I'm not an expert.
jocko500
gator have wide mouths and croc do not. at lest that what the net say about them. cool shooting here.

After watching the show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" I vote its a Croc because of its teeth. Hope I get to choose the next topic, lol. Nice and spooky capture. Aloha

Splendid shots in this collage of the bored caretakers with their pet, Marilyn. Okay, if it's of any help in identifying between the two reptiles, an alligator's snout is shorter and blunter than a crocodile's, and its teeth do not protrude outside its closed mouth. Hence, if the teeth in the photos are any indication, the big guy all strapped down in the photos is apparently a crocodile. Anyway, at least you'll know what you're confronting when you come face to face with one while taking a swim in the Eel River.

I bet that was a sight to see! Nice collection of photos here! I haven't seen the show Sharky mentioned, but I think any 5th grader would know it's unwise to parade a large, dangerous reptile through town. (Well ... any 5th grade girl ... the boys would probably think it's cool! Apparently they don't get smarter after 5th grade.) LOL! Can I say that in public?
Kyms_Cave
Definatly a Crocodile..it's snout and teeth give it away..also it's tail..great collage shows off the action very well...I just love crocks...
