Description

This is a shot I took last fall in Huntington Beach, California. It was a ways off, but there is still something I liked about it. That's Catalina Island in the background.

That's what I like, a tryer, they may only small ones but any wave is better than still water when you are trying to surf. I would love to see a similar shot with the 'newish' camera, I bet you still haven't tried all the bells and whistles out yet. Great shot and postwork. Bravo!!!!!

My warped brain wanted to make him one of those universal stick men that they have on warning signs.... And as far as working the small waves, if that's all you've got then that's what you use! I grew up in Southern California, and most of my friends were surfers; they were happy with whatever the ocean decided to give them. Nice photo, Marilyn; I like the transition from BW to color in the vignette!

Huntington Beach, CA, a virtual stone's throw from my abode! Catalina looks so large in this shot; isn't it 26-miles off the coast? Or at least that's what the song says. Interesting and dynamic capture here, Marilyn.
