Description

Ok this is a test render for a book cover and it is almost done. I need some clear opinions, like the tatoo at her neck and by her mouth I am not liking it as much because of her pose. here she is not in the scene for the cover but I am working only on the character here. So please look at this in full view and tell me what you like and don't like. Her attitude is that of a"Princess" the you don't impress me much pose that says in-difference or non-chalance, and boredom. Also she will be leaning against a wall! she must have spots, tatoos and long dark hair, have attitude and red gloves, thanks for your comments Dusty

Only thing I notice is that her expression is devoid of the "attitude" you have set as criteria- perhaps if she were looking at the camera with her head tilted down a tad, her eyes clearly focused on the viewer and perhaps a touch of a snarl/smile?

Overall I think her textures and tatts are good. I'm not a fan of the pose either. I don't think it communicates attitude, as in strong will if that is what you want to convey. To me this pose says in-difference or non-chalance, and boredom. I also agree with jdehaven about her facial expression. Overall she is a very beautiful creation.

What an interesting pattern for her body. I assume it is supposed to be a natural color and not a body paint. Good job! (5)

Personally, I would change nothing. The pose is great and the face expression too. I love the tattoos. Great, just great! W. ;)

I agree with you for her face. Maybe the tatoos on her cheeks must be changed. The rest is perfect ! For the attitude and expression, I don't know what you need to express, so I can't tell ;)

It's fab :) What's odd about the tats by her mouth and on her neck is that the black swirls are finer/thinner there - I don't think I'd have noticed, or thought anything was wrong, if you hadn't pointed it out - I actually think the tats are great:)

I like the spots on her body, they're really well done. I don't like the swirls though. The spots on her face look less natural than the ones on her body, too symetrical maybe or graphic like. I like her pose and maybe like they said, just make her look at the camera and that may change her attitude a bit. Because I like the spots on her body, I would choose a plainer top, without the design on it, it takes away from the spots on the body. Her left arm may have been pushed a bit too far, try her pose in a mirror, I'm trying it right now, and it hurts to push it out that far :) Unless you bring her shoulder back a bit. She looks lovely :)

Hi Dusty, I like the spots, but the black swirls look pasted on. I agree with jdehaven about her expression, it needs the "attitude" I think his suggestion about her head position and mouth is a good idea. All in all it is a good pose and character and you have done a very nice job with her. I think just experimenting with the comments you have gotten can add that "attitude" you are looking for. Keep us posted on her, OK? Have a good one! :)

First I want to say that this is a lovely character! I like her spots but as SimplyTina mentioned her 'swirls' are different enough in color that they don't match the spots and look 'off'. If you color them to be closer to the spots they would work better but you could also leave them off because her skin is beginning to look a bit busy with the spots and swirls. I would change the lighting a bit - I think it should be more dramatic so that you have shadowing to accent her form more. The pose is nice but if you want to convey more of the indifference attitude, you might play around with it some more. I think one big thing you could do to convey 'indifference' is to play with her eyes. People roll their eyes upward and to the side and pull the one side of their mouth over to the same side they roll their eyes. This expression would be more like 'oh brother, you are such a dweeb' expression but it would go with what you're trying to do I think. I like the outfit - great textures and colors. The red gloves don't really go with what she's wearing - anyway to either put some red into her outfit or change the glove color. It really is nice work so I'm trying to be a bit picky in response to your request. Hope I've helped out a bit. Keep us posted on your progress!!

Nice model and textures, but the pose seems slightly at odds with the character being described. Perhaps a more assertive stance, and a change of POV from slightly below, rather than above, to achieve a more dramatic and 'haughty princess' look. Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing the finished work!

Hi Hon, I like her spots too...I do agree about her looking better without the places on her face and the swirls. I love her outfit....and she is a lovely character...getting poses and expressions right is hard to do.(I always wrestle with that)..but I would try a little bit different pose to get her attitude across and work a little with her expression..... Really looking good hon...love, Carol

She conveys a certain aloofness and a bit of boredom that convinces me she really is a princess. Well done.

Cool character Dusty :) Like her expression and skin texture, but no princess I know would wear leather britches without a pair of silk knickers underneath!! :)

Perhaps if she were looking a bit more up and to her right? Really not sure about her expression, just mess around with it and something will pop -_^ The character is beautiful!
