How's that for a vanishing line??
This shot was taken with an old Coolpix, so the quality isn't as good as those photos taken with my Canon.
This is looking North. I had planned on going here for the July 4th weekend, but as some of you may know, this is the epicenter of--as I write--the raging wildfire on the Central Coast. Smoke clouds now line the coastline. The Big Sur area is such a beautiful place. Hopefully it will bounce back quickly.
At the bottom left of this photo, you can see the kelp forest that stretches up and down the coast. Inside of them lives an entire bio-system of different animals. The Monterey Bay Aquarium has great live displays of what this looks like.

Most beautiful place on Earth. Your photograph is absolutely gorgeous. It brings back to me the memory of many trips I made to Esalen, which is 45 miles drive south from Monterey, 11 miles south of Nepenthe, on Coast Route 1. The best time of my life...... The most beautiful sunsets, one can never forget. Thank you for sharing this very professional and special in so many ways photograph.

The rugged coastline with fringing marine parks reminds me of much of the coast of Scotland although we miss out on the sun and thankfully much of the wildfire. This viewpoint has the advantage of including a road bridge which gives a sense of scale.
