Description

This house was built in 1683 and was originally owned by the De Gruchy & latterly the Larbalestier Families of Jersey. It is also known as "Sous Les Bois" crudely translated to "Under the Wood". (If I am wrong please correct me) It was bequethed to the National Trust of Jersey in 1936. The Trust now maintain the property along with many others under their administration. Full view shows the magnificent pantiles on the roof and the granite on the building in more detail. I took this at lunch time today as I went for a drive in the hope of some captures for RR. Two cappuchino's during the trip! Thank you for viewing and your comments, much appreciated Susan

What a lovely quaint cottage, great shot. I was out last week on a countryside hike and took a shot of a lovely row of stone houses with a blaze of flowers around and I was confronted by one of the owners who questioned why I was taking photo's and said that it was his property etc etc. he asked me to delete it, in doing so I was in a bit of a flap and deleted the whole series of 30 or 40 pics, I was so angry that people are so touchy and paranoid ! Oh sorry for go off on one lol.

Thanks for your comment Alan, as this is a National Trust property there was no problem in taking the photo, however, we have beautiful granite farm houses and very old cottages, as well as houses worth 2-3 million pounds here. If I stopped and took photo's of peoples homes I would have the Police with me within minutes due to the number of burglaries that take place. They would think I was "casing the joint" - I agree it is annoying but I suppose if someone was taking a photo of my end of terrace (can't think why they would want to) I would think they were weird it wouldnt occur to me that my home would end up on Renderosity LMAO.

Wonderful house, and you did a wonderful "cappuccino shot"...LOL Thanks for your information, very helpful. And your problems with photography and police- never take pictures in a german basics school! I had to visit the schools leader - as in the early times when I was a child and did something wrong..... Photographers are all criminals - they sell their pics diretly to Bin Laden...LOL
