Description
I shot this photo after coming back from a nighttime canoe trip with my youngest daughter. Earlier the same night, we saw another Luna Moth in the water as I was launching the canoe. I placed my boot underneath it and gently placed him on land where he quickly recovered and flew in my daughter's direction. She screamed so loud that I think I saw the fireflies all dim their lights at the same time! lol
I will post the Luna Moth on my boot tomorrow but the flash washed a lot of its color out so I wanted those who may have never seen one, get a view of this huge & beautiful moth. I will also write a little about our night time canoe trip... for those who may be interested.
Thanks for viewing: "Luna Moth"

Exotic for my frame of mind, somewhat from outer space. Interesting name and well captured. I wonder why it has the name Luna, moon?
