Yep, I'm still around. Been a busy summer. I've been making images, just none I'm satisfied with, lol. But I think that may be a "me" problem. So I decided to go ahead and post some work I've been labeling as WIP. But really I dont think they will "progress" any further, so it's delete or post, sorry I decided to post :}
This image took over 30 hours to render, and I did two UberEnviroment layers, so that's over 60 hours, trust me this one is not going to be reworked. lol I was going for a mixture of mood,fantasy and realism. Any suggestions for future renders are muchly appreciated.

I think that its just Brilliant and well worth the wait, so we can get the band out now. 30 hours to render wow , i think you need to get a bigger pc. and thanks for posting you render,i like it

Nice image and a great idea. Yes, that UberEnvironment can be wonderful, but tedious! 30 hours is not uncommon. Having said that, I recently rendered one in Vue that took a full 5 days. People go on about computers and resources, but I often think the greatest resource is our patience.

Totally fabulous image !!! The girl is so realistic lol. The skin is perfect and the lion looks excellent too.:) I have been trying out the Uber lights, but am forced to give up on them, due to the excessive render times. Its worth the waiting as this image shows, only too well, but i like to do other stuff, while rendering and i cant with the Uber lights. Waiting for 10 hours etc, while something is rendering, just does my head in. :D Excellent image. :) 5.

Wow - that is a lot of render time, lol. But she is gorgeous so I think the wait was well worth it. She is very realistic, and the cougar looks great too!

Yes I'm having some timing issues with Uber and have only used it once since I bought it. Great piece though, wonderful work!!

I think the hair on that kitty alone must have accounted for half your render time. Seriously, the most I can suffer is a 18hrs and only if I'm sleeping part of them. On the upside, this looks really good. The pose is great, pretty natural-looking and the skin looks amazing. Awesome job!

Definitely with the UE lighting; hair and fur textures at least double the rendering times. I've had some that have gone over 24 hours, and as soon as I pulled the hair textures out that time dropped to 10. I've gotten fairly good at using the UE lighting; this is a very nice example of what can be done with them!
