Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

! You have bears????! Very brave of you to spend so much time in your garden, bears terrify me. The compost gods are great, as is the image. And I want to see the sweet peas when they're blooming!

Your Garden is really very interesting!! ... two days! :-)))))
thecytron
Sure is very colorful!

Green beans. You could grow green beans. If you had too many, you could overnight 'em up here to me. I promise they wouldn't go to waste! :) Love the tiki gods guarding your compost!
Janiss
Wonderfull colors and POV!

Bears?! Great Scott! i thought mosquitos were bad enough! I love the idea of compost guardians, the Hindus have 'bhuts' or gods for everything. perhaps I'll make a compost bhut, you've inspired me!

I think you need a scarebear, you know like a scarecrow. Know wonder these two look a little nervous lol.

wonderful looking. cool colors

Fences, tikis and cans. Is that anything like lions, tigers and bears? Looks like a sacrificial altar of some sort. High contrast lighting effects and vivid colors in this amazing capture, Marilyn!!! As for the battered and beat-up metal trash cans, they can be easily replaced with the tough and sturdy plastic variety.

Very nice composition!

Wow ... bears in the neighborhood ... what can the tikis do about that. Sounds dangerous!! Where do you live ... Alaska?? Cool capture!!

I love those tikis I will have to look out for some when out and about, I could do with a Koi God, to stop a pesky black moggy from walking across the netting. He ripped a corner and nearly fell in last week, then I saw him sleeping right in the middle, the netting sagging under his weight. I have a big black compost bin but no bears, thank you very much. I like to see this intimate part of the garden Marilyn. Forget the sweet peas and the green beans grow some garden peas instead, I might be tempted to come over and help you shell them. My dad loved to grow his own veg. Superb capture, did I tell you I love those Tikis? Bravo!!!!!

I can't bear it anymore, just grin and bear it, the bear facts, bear knuckles, bear naked, Hmmmm have to think about that one!!!!! And the wildest critters of all, auntietk and you, Tehehehehe, Just Kidding,................ unless you laughed ;^)

Seems as tho the Tikis are not having too much of an influence on the bears. Perhaps a bit of dry ice smoke coming out of their mouths would scare 'em off. Probably not!!! LOL

Cool conversion!
