Description

In Greek mythology, Arachne was a weaver who acquired such skill that she ventured to challenge the Goddess Athena to a contest.
Athena wove a tapestry showing the gods in majesty, while Arachne depicted them in their amorous adventures.
Enraged at the perfection of her rival's work, Athena tore it to shreds, whereupon Arachne hanged herself.

as always, Mina, your artworks have layers and passions that have a life of their own, beyond the power of your themes. But your vision of the theme is powerful not only because Arachne is surrounded by such passionate power (the lightning-reds blasting through a webwork that seems atomic), but also because the web seems like the ganglia of a massive brain or heart; and you have your usual spheres and worlds surrounding her like she were one of the Hindu goddesses ruling the universe. A passionate, explosive and loving work, and one of the most rapturous I've seen of this myth.
