Description

In Greek mythology, Arachne was a weaver who acquired such skill that she ventured to challenge the Goddess Athena to a contest.
Athena wove a tapestry showing the gods in majesty, while Arachne depicted them in their amorous adventures.
Enraged at the perfection of her rival's work, Athena tore it to shreds, whereupon Arachne hanged herself.

I do have a thing about spiders in the house. They freak me out. But I have managed to make myself capture them and release them in the garden. Now, in the garden I have NO problem with then at all. Just brush them off, and on my merry way I go. And to think my in-house freakiness of spidey's is all Athena's fault! Your interpretation is wonderous! And it's outside, so I'm good, LOL, and I can sit and admire it this without going EeeeeeeeeEEEEeeeeKKKKKkkkkk,

My word, I didn't realise this was where spiders came from. Still doesn't make me like them any more either. Your image though, portrays a lot of emotion and is very well created, with a very webby effect. Excellent work.

Excellent concept and composition, beautifuly done character with a wonderfuly abstract scene. Excellent Greek mythology tale as well, its dark but I always liked that one

This world is outstanding Mina !!! wouldn't like to be there.......but I'm not afraid of spiders !!! I remember last year I' ve got a friend (spider) lol.......and a bring her lots of flies in its web !!! she became big and big .............and one day she disappears ! I suppose she got an overdose of flies .........haha
