Description

Been raining since morning today. It's been an unusually wet summer and cool so far. Wish I could share some with North California. Hope you as well as others suffering from thirst have your long-awaited break on the weekend. Nikolay

holy cow, what an amazing shot! I'm so glad I went back in your gallery: I've been wanting to for a while, and if I waited another day, I'd kick myself. This is exquisite. It reminds me of the great photographers of the Depression Era here in the States: They caught city and industrial shots like this with a simple camera and no training, and just a darkroom at night...This is filled with motion, we can tell what it is but we can't, because you caught so much movement and fascinating form, it could be many things. And the rain adds to the intensity of the shot. It looks like a huge lumber yard; or perhaps a yard for metal girders. Or a city, with the sides of buildings—only, if it's a city street, what in the world are all those girders doing there! It's great when a photo can look 'real' and yet confound us at the same time. And yet, whatever, wherever, it's all of a piece, all natural, and has a wonderful sweeping motion. Lord, all these terrific works just sitting in the pages of your gallery. This is a fav, and your gallery's a treasure.
