Description

Last night's sunset at high tide in St Andrews. I had quite an amusing time getting this shot - having clambered out onto slippy rocks with the tide coming in I had my camera in one hand and tripod in the other and was about to set up when I slipped and basically had the option of dropping one or the other in order to free a hand up to grab onto the rocks and stop falling into the sea! So I think I made the right choice by hanging on to my camera and letting the tripod get sucked out to sea (no matter though it was half broken and pretty cheap anyway... means I'm upgrading that a bit sooner than I was planning which I'm not too displeased about really!) All of this must have been pretty amusing to the few onlookers from the nearby carpark, maybe more so when I decided to jump in after it and have an unsuccessful fish around for it, getting soaked in the process as I got caught out by the odd incoming wave(!) Anyway after all that I sat my wet derriere down on the rock and snapped away at the unfolding sunset.. this one's a panoramic stitch of about 5 or so shots which pretty much takes it all in.. I might post a more closeup view tomorrow if I get around to editing it today. Have a great weekend! Adam

The hardships we go through for our art, eh? Luckily you saved the camera (and your derriere!) Great work!

I feel so sorry for you :( That must have been quite the ordeal. Had I seen it all, my heart would have snapped in two. I probably would have tried saving your tripod after I knew you were safely anchored to shore lol Jeez, the postions we put ourselves into huh? Just to get a nice shot :) This is gorgeous; absolutely gorgeous. Now be careful .......
