Description

I planted these Sweet William (Dianthus) in Spring of 2007. I was rewarded with an abundance of blooms this year. Several different colors too. Bright pink (yesterday's upload), pink and white, white and pink and variations... I was quite pleased with the display. This shot was taken when the first blooms appeared. Those little "fuzzy" clumps were filled with buds and they would bloom in a big dome. It was really cool. The weather today has been soooo humid and hot. Ugh. We had Flash Floods in surrounding areas. I just got the heat and humidity. I hope MrsLubner gets some on that rain up North to help with those wild fires! Thanks for your comments and stopping by. I tell you, I have been seeing so many different flowers that I have never seen before. This is very unusual to me. But, I love it. Hawaii has lots of kinds of flowers too. Nature is truely wonderful and so is your capture. Aloha

I love these flowers; they are sposed to be an annual, but seems they keep coming up for me here. They are so sweet (perfect name for them .. Sweet Williams) and pretty. We had terrible heat & humidity too here but tornadoes and severe storms blew it all outta here... now its actually cold. lol 64.4F here now... I say that's perfect for gardening, too cold for swimming and snorkeling though.

Vivid colors and sharp clarity on display in this splendid macro of Sweet William in all its glory, Melinda! I don't think I've ever seen this particular species before. Hot and humid where I am also, but not as bad as what you have.
