Description

There have been some beautiful clouds around lately which means that I just can't resist taking more pictures of the Thames in Reading. This one is a view from Reading Bridge looking upstream toward our other river crossing, Caversham Bridge. Before the 1920's, this view would have had two counties in it. Berkshire on the left and Oxfordshire on the right but, for administrative purposes, the county boundary was bent around Caversham. The town has continued to grow in recent years and that is why some of the Northern-most parts of Reading are, in fact, in Oxfordshire even though it is the County Town of Berkshire. There, useless fact number 9116. :-D ------------------------------- Original Photograph 19-Jun-2008

Would that I could be floating down that river in a canoe with a picnic lunch and my bride. Wonderful shot!
