Description

I was walking into work just after 7:00 am, the river was so still, the air clear and the silence was almost absolute with only the odd bird song and rustle of breeze in the trees and vegetation on the bank. Even though this is not the most picturesque part of the Thames, I could have stopped here all day. :-) Sadly, though, I had to go to work. But this picture, for me, quite admirably captured the sense of tranquillity I felt at that moment. Thanks for looking, and for the nice comments on my other recent offerings. ------------------------------- Original Photograph 24-Jun-2008

I must admit that I had been hoping for some sort of early retirement recently when I lost my job - but then they went and re-deployed me instead. :-( Never mind. Soon. :-)

Indeed early morning is a wonderful part of the day and you have beautifully captured the reason why. I would probably have given into the desire to stay. Wonderful, wonderful picture.
