Description
Captured very early in the morning, within walking distance of my hallowed haunt.
Top two photos show a recent occurrence. The pole was broken off at the base.
Several years ago, during the task of reinforcing a local freeway overpass, a chain link fence was also erected to prevent transients (i.e., bums) from drinking and sleeping under the overpass -- apparently most comfortable with lying and sitting in dirt. About 48-hours after the fence had been installed, night-stalking malevolents, possibly the transients themselves, took a metal cutting device to it, perhaps a cable cutter, and you can see the result in the bottom pair of photos, which display the same cut viewed from two different POVs. I spoke to the deputy at the sheriff's station about the damage, and he just shrugged it off. Ho hum. Been there, seen that.
Thankx for the visit, and let's start off the new week with a nice broad grin!

In my town we can see if the friday night was mad or not by finding a next morning over turned garbage bins, broken signs like yours, ripped off tree limbs, broken bottles everywhere on their path. Shoking and as your deputy reacted normal to some. What a world come to and who is let it go this far? Excelent trio Harry to remind us not just nice ppl lurking among us. GRIIIIN...lol

You are studying misprision which is different than forgiveness. A pattern of behavior is not a conspiracy. Each culprit must be dealt with individually. Even a license plate is not enough. You have to look the malefactor in the eye.

I have no idea what to say or do about this stuff; people seem to be growing up with no respect for anything, and I want to blame TV and video games, but in reality I know this kind of stuff has been going on forever, it just seems like more now.

It's a mystery to me why people do things. Everyone has their own agenda, finding value in whatever it is they're doing. I don't pretend to understand. Your photographs are an excellent representation of the events described. Clear and concise. Well done!

whatever turns 'em on, huh? Jeez .. wish people would put their energies into something positive. Just think how great the world would be.

More stupidity~~it's everywhere. You have to wonder why people do such things.

Good reporting Harry. I guess we'll never know who or why. Bored, unsupervised kids probably.

Appalling! That's but the start to total disarray and lawlessness. We have seen it happen, initially damaging a tap and then before you know, they squat on your private property while the owner is footing the bill for services and utilities.

Not good, but then neither is the road surface and I don't think you can blame transients or frost heaves for that.........not down south where you are! lol
