Description

Captured 7/2/08, very early in the morning, within walking distance of my sometimes hospitable habitat. Both photos are of the same flower, but from different angles/POVs. Although I've snapped several hundred rose pictures in my time, the red variety has always been the bane of my photographic existence, not depicting on screen the contrasts and textures I see when first encountering the flower. So this is the first time I was able to catch one that didn't turn out to be an indistinguishable and/or inexplicable red blob on the monitor. This rose was truly red, and not a dark pink. Of course, a little encouragement from Photoshop didn't hurt to brighten up and bring out the contrast in this beauty. Thankx for the peek, and have a totally together Tuesday.

Wow Harry. This is realy a beautyful color and love the detailed veins on the petals what looks so much better on full size. 85 roses!! Keep on snapping I want to see the 100th and more.

jock500: I've had this red rose problem with all four of my cameras. All other items colored red come out fine.

Absolutely stunning captures Harry. Red is rather difficult to capture but you did it so well. The petals have a velvety look to them. I bet the smell is so sweet too! Great work. :)

You did well Harry, it has excellent clarity and texture and a wide variety of reds to be seen depending on the angle of the light. Very sharp too.

Lovely shots, Harry, very lovely! The sunlight and pov has really captured the texture and the "velvety' appearance!
