Description

A BIG hello! to you all! Been waaaaayyyy too long since I've posted anything. Just been working my posterior off for the last 7 months! One is a big project near and dear to me- I will post that in the next few days. Work is slowing down a little so I have many projects that I had hoped to have done over last Christmas break, that I am now aiming to complete over the rest of the summer. (Fingers crossed!:) So I did this over my week "vacation" this past week (instead of what I should have been doing:) Definitely the most ambitious piece I've done to date. I've been re-reading the wonderful Navajo mystery novels by Tony Hillerman again (highly recommend!) and this piece sort of evolved from that as well as the time I have spent over the years on the "Big Rez"/Four Corners area which I love. This started in Poser 7 (I just love P7 BTW!) with the Mil Horse and Daz Eagle Exp 2. Then off to Bryce 6 as separate renders. The Mil Horse is a custom tex map I made for this project, using the marvelous MoonRose's Equine Textures as a base. The eagle is pretty straight "out of the box". The shield is something I out together in Illustrator, then PS. Then I brought those renders and pieces into Photoshop CS3 (yes finally I had to take the plunge for work and upgraded to the CS3 design package:) I painted in the background, feathers etc and then brought them into Painter X as separate pieces and over painted/added brush work to them. Ditto the horse and eagle. Then finally back to PS and made adjustments as to layer opacity, retouching etc. Then back to Painter as a flattened image and final painting done on the image as a whole. Final print is 20"x30"- also my physically largest work to date as well! Hope you enjoy! I'll be catching up with site mail and everyone's galleries here over the next week- please be patient with me! I am sooooo far behind! I *will* get back with you!
