Lucky man, this is where you had been, visiting Andrea recently? Lovely rolling hills and sandy beach, well captured.

Bowleaze Cove is a picturesque area that is approximately 2 miles to the east of Weymouth town centre. It is dominated by The Riviera Hotel, a long white Spanish style building of the old Pontin’s holiday camp. It is the home of Waterside Holiday Park and Bowleaze Cove has an amusement complex, cafe, Fun Fair, Go-Karting and Monday open air market. Bowleaze Beach is a pebbly beach backed by cliffs, there are odd patches of sand. You are able to walk along the beach all the way into Weymouth and as you progress towards Weymouth the beach becomes sand. Bowleaze Cove is also home to the excellent five star Waterside Holiday Park. I understand that this is the only five star holiday park in Weymouth. The River Jordan flows into the sea at Bowleaze Cove, it is a small river with its source in the hills above Sutton Poyntz, running down through Preston and finally flowing out onto the beach. You can walk to the Jordan Hill Roman Temple and just behind in Osmington Hill is The White Horse of Osmington Hill Bowleaze Cove is popular for water sports and has it own jet-ski designated area. ~~~ From the tourist website! Glad you found the town proper, though! It's a super photo,Mick, looks very 'off season'!

Great pic of this beach Mick, looks like it might be a bit difficult to do fishing here unless you know what your doing as the waves look rough.

Apart from the sky Mick, a picture postcard capture, especially if you had been staying at Pontins(as was). Thanks to Andrea for the information as well. It looks like you had some dry time if not much sun Mick, and as long as you enjoyed the break(with three grandkids?) then thats the main thing. I used to enjoy fishing but have not done any for 20 years or more. This looks like a pretty good spot. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

I never have had much luck with surf fishing. I catch mostly snags when I'm not reeling in bales of seaweed! LOL Great shot and it looks a bit chilly but relaxing.
