Description

I am way too serious, LOL. I had such fun comments from people wanting to take me up on an African Safari and some compared it to making a list like in the movie "Bucket List". Now for those of you who know about the movie, will know why I found it amusing.

My upload today is to tease you further: Have you ever wished you could get this close to a Rhino and her calf, safely, and no, she is not captive, she roams in the wild. Furthermore she has the biggest horn we know of and thus her whereabouts are kept secret for her own safety. I uploaded a bigger than usual version, so feel free to zoom in, there is detail of her udder - something rarely ever spotted. I wonder if this should have been tagged for nudity? :-|

Okay, I quit, LOL! People like PJ, Shari, Spike, Louise, Bonita and Michel showed some interest, we are waiting for you guys. Carin and I can speak American.

wirklich beeindruckende Aufnahme! Diese schönen Nashörner! Welchen Sicherheits-Abstand hattest Du? Die Nashorn-Mütter sollen ja sehr gefährlich sein!

I am floored by the size of that horn! It is the most amazing thing! I am fascinated by its slender beauty. The turn of the hind ankle is also very interesting with the odd construction of the feet! And look at that skin! The cragginess is stunning - rolls and folds and wrinkles and all. I so love the African wildlife. When I go to our zoo, the first place I head for is the African section. I can stand for hours if left unattended (LOL) in front of the hippos, rhinos, elephants, elks and deers and buffalos of all types. It is not much since all these animals are confined and behaviors are not natural any more, and the thrill is limited to what you see rather than feeling elation of coming on them in their wild and natural home. I don't know if I could have ever left this mother and calf...I'd probably still be standing watch over them hypnotized by their incredible beauty. Of course, this means, you have done a stellar job in your photography. Your skill, talent, and bravery combined with the excellent postwork is awesome.
