Description

Please watch in full size to appreciate the details. Thanks! I read a lot during these last few weeks, something I love to do but haven't done enough, and so I wanted to make an image about the act of reading. This is my second image featuring a reader. My first one was called "The Reader", it was made in February 2007, two months after I started playing with Vue. It's full of technical deficiencies and several things I would do completely different if it was now. Despite that, I still like it so, here's a direct link to it. Who knows, you might like it as well. thumb_1389156.jpg Thanks for watching! EDIT: axolotl2 asked about the tree root. Yes, that's a standard Vue tree (a "Large European Ash", available in C3D). The adjustment between the terrain and the roots was made the old fashioned way: several iterations adjusting the roots in the plant editor and the terrain in the terrain editor until they both match together. No secret, just hard work. :-)

splendid - I still read every day and have my retreat in a lil room I have deemed my library - this is an inviting setting to spend your days reading in. Currently reading The Histories of Herodotus of Halicarnassus.

Excellent composition and concept, I absolutely love this. The contrast and symbolism of such a little serine spot to yourself with the huge city in the background is brilliant. I would love to physicaly be able to go to a place like this, but I'll settle for my imagination ;)

Beutiful water texture and scene. I love the detail! How are you at doing a forest fire? I'd like to feature your work on the cover of my upcoming novel. Contact me, if you're interested.

Ah, this is what I have been looking for for a long time now. Something truly outstanding and breathtaking to add to my favorite images! I can so easily imagine myself there on that island enjoying the beauty, peace and solitude.

Wow, I'm a bookseller, so reading is part of my daily work routine. I wish I'd had a place similar to that one near my home. Oh well, I guess I just have to keep looking at your render... Simply stunning, I escpecially like the water. It almost looks as it was a procedural terrain and not a plane because of the transparency and reflections. Relly nice :-)
