Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Well, heck! I've been here. I had no idea what it was. I thought it had to do with the many abandoned military buildings. Gosh, I learn something every day. Excellent shot!

It must have been a mammoth place in its day. Thanks for the informative links...quite interesting reading, especially about the fire which destroyed it. Seems as though a family member finally let the cat outta the bag..."they're all dead, and the insurance money is long gone." Thanks for sharing the photo and the links.

A very intriguing shot Marilyn, thanks for the link, made interesting reading, especially the insurance fire. A shame that such a building was 'lost' the picture at Wikipedia showing how it was when newish. Still it must be an interesting place to visit, I wonder did you go into the caves? Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Great capture, I've been there a number of times, but kick myself for not ever having a camera at the time! It is a very intriguing ruin.

Old ruins always seem to make great photo's Marilyn and this certainly captures the air of neglect. Tony :-)

Looks like it was quite the place in its day. Now it looks spooky, but interestin to explore at you own risk.

Good POV and atmosphere depicted in this shot of the Ruins, Marilyn. I don't know about the rest of the debris, but spooky caves are good and should be encouraged. Incidentally, how did the Baths survive the big quake and fire in 1906? Then again, I suppose if Clark Gable, Jeanette McDonald and Spencer Tracy lived through the disaster, then a good chance it also made it through okay.
