Description

When I was in SF on Monday, my friend and I went to the Legion Of Honor Museum. Unfortunatately, it was closed, but we still wandered around looking at the beautiful grounds. This glass tree by Dale Chihuly** is in the courtyard; I couldn't get real close, so just zoomed in for this close up. The tree is about 20 high and is beyond stunning; hard to imagine this is all hand blown glass that's grown into a tree. ** click here

Good heavens, Marilyn, this is remarkable! Just mind blowing on top of the glass blowing!!! What genius to have created these exquisite baubles of glass in such a spectrum of lovely colors! Kinda reminds me of either licorice ropes, plastic shielding for electronic cables or transparent pasta.

His work is amazing, and you've gotten a marvelous bird's eye view of this part of it! If you really want to OD on colors and shapes check out his ceiling in the lobby of the Bellagio in Las Vegas! Huge and mind-blowing!
