Description

Have not posted for a while as been flat out with my Uni study and assignments, not to mention part time work. What little time left is generally spent with my family, and playing with our 3 year old twins, well that is a lot more fun than working on a computer. ;P As a result, I have not been on Renderosity that much lately. The idea behind this image is that of an alien ship hovering over and surveying an abandoned human city. Still playing with retro-Scifi images. The space ship, I created in Wings 3D. The texture is one of the ones supplied with Vue 6 Pro Studio, being Futuristic building in the special effects, buildings area. The design was inspired by my dim memories of the ship designs on the 70s covers on reprints of classic scifi novels like the Lensmen series by E.E.Smith. Which is rather interesting as the original Lensmen series was written in the 1930s and 1940s. Good fun space opera. The buildings are from the Dystopia City block series supplied with Vue 6 Pro Studio. This particular render took 9 hours 20 minutes. BTW, I have not forgotten the TOAD UAV object, I haven’t had time to texture map it as yet, but as soon as these current crop of assignments are done, I should be able to complete it and then will post the object in Free Stuff. Enjoy :) and thanks for all the comments on my previous images.

Great idea, and as you say a bit rero. One thing I would have liked to see would be (if possible) some of the 'windows' in the space ship structure backlit. Not sure how as I dont use those apps but it could be postworked if you rendered the spaceship seperately and exported it into Photoshop. Just an idea anyway, but the image works perfectly as it is. I am glad to read of your priorities - I think too many of us spend too long doing this stuff to the exclusion of all else! (Thanks for visiting 'The Castle BTW!) Dave
