I dont think of myself as an artist - more a creatively minded laymen. Im blessed with perpetual inspiration, but cursed by a lack of talent.
I have always loved to sketch, and on the odd occasion even paint. Unfortunately for me, a real world canvas doesnt have an undo button. This is why, back in 1996, I first started toying with a Shareware version of Paint Shop Pro (found on the cover of a magazine). I knew almost instantly that digital art was for me.
Fast forward to 2006, when I discovered a highly under-rated (yet unfortunately limited) program called FaceGen. Within hours of tinkering with the software I was creating realistic characters well beyond anything I could have managed via traditional mediums. But what to do about bodies for my newly created digital brethren?
I took it upon myself to scour the internet in search of a 3D software package that was flexible enough to fulfil my specific needs, while still being NOOB friendly. Untimely I didnt want to spend months, or even years deciphering the ins and outs of 3D Studio Max for instance.
It wasnt long before I caught digital whisperings of a program called Poser, which lead me eFrontiers very own site.
In search of more examples of Poser art I found myself inevitably at Renderosity...and I havent looked back since.
The community here is certainly a mixed bunch (as are all communities, online especially), but in the great majority they have proven to be incredibly helpful, and wonderfully supportive.
If you plan on commenting on my images (and I certainely hope you do) while praise is always appreciated, critical analysis and constructive criticism is encouraged.
Happy rendering!

I like this... is pretty cool!

I think he would make an excellent character in a comic strip - he has that kind of look... he could as well, be someone real. This is quite out of the ordinary and I like this :) Good to see you back and around - been wondering where you've been :) :) Tina

I can't agree with you on Apollo... I downloaded it into my computer, the files uploaded into poser... I click on them in poser and NOTHING... so at this point, I cannot agree with how good Apollo is... It's a mess in my opinion - lol... cool looking character though.

Angel - Thanks. Tina - Always a pleasure. Praise from you is high praise indeed. mikeerson - I'm sure we've had this conversation before. I would think that the fact you have not as yet used Apollo disqualifies you from judging him/it, no?

Apollo opens just fine for me. I love apollo as a male figure, but he always seems to just look like Apollo to me, ClawShrimp your figures are the only I know of that truly DON'T look like Apollo. Big cheers for that. This character looks fantastic, again! He reminds me of the character from Slingblade. Not that he actually looks like the actor, more that this character fits the role better than the actor did. Good job.

Fantastic! I love unusual faces and characters and you have really done the job well! It is inspiring to see your work, makes me want to try new things. Awesome!
Trollmac

It's an interesting face to look at. And the work itself is high in quality.

Great character ;)

JJ, I know what you mean. In fact, the great majority of images I see using Apollo are instantly recognisable. It seems that most people focus on the three biggies; eyes, nose mouth. However, a fairly large factor to the Apollo clone look is his less than prominant brow. 'Fix' that, and you're half-way to shedding that oh so familiar family resemblence. Oh, and don't be afraid to turn those dials both ways :) Thanks to everyone else for their feedback. Much appreciated.

I like. Not your usual approach to be sure. But it works. I'd like to see more like this from you. You definitely have an eye for caricatures. Love that receding chin btw. Oh and mikeerson I'm not sure if you can judge Apollo solely on your inability to load it properly. I think it's a genius bit of programming. It's user friendly enough for me to use (I'm no Poser expert) and it's so damn pliable.

You sure know what Poser is designed for. Nice work
