Description

A shot from the other morning, taken an hour or so before 'Curves'. The title comes from an old saying: Red sky at night - shepherd's delight; red sky at morning... Apparently it's meant to mean rain or a storm may be coming, and funnily enough as I moved on and wandered down to the pier I was amazed to see the mists begin to roll in and reduce visibility to a couple of hundred metres or so at best, more of which in the coming days.. The shot here was taken from the cliff edge walk between the castle and the pier while the tide was on its way out. If you look really closely you can see the tip of the sun peeping over the horizon about a quarter of the way in from the left of the frame.. this really was first light.. Adam *edit - changed the title as comments make me believe I might have remembered the saying incorrectly ;)

Excellent capture Adam, the tonal range is superb, here in south London we know it as red sky at night shepherd's delight, red sky in morning sailor take warning, interesting how sayings differ at different ends of the country!
