Description

Hello All!!! Here is one of my photo arts / smudge painting - lots of hand painting with a mouse and smudging over a pic i took last week of my daughter Janel and new cocker Moby ( done in paint shop) . Haven't done this type of photo art works in a while so played with this this weekend as I have had a few requests for this style lately. Sometimes Moby gets sad when Candi( our other cocker spaniel) growls at him to put him in his place but Janel ( or Nellie as we call her) is always there to give reassuring hugs and love to make him feel better. I have lots up in my gallery of Janel and Candi but not one of her and Mo so thought this pic was cute of them . Didn't like the quality of the picture as it was takin' in low light so tried to draw it out with my post work .. spent a long time playing with this one so figured i better put it up before I over do it ... I know there are allot of purist photographers that are not into this sort of thing but i am a painter and photographer so now and then like to blend the two mediums ...hehe and hey its just so much fun to play !!! Oh c'mon, photography is painting with light and it does have all the qualities of a good painting now. I appreciate the fact that it is stroking/smudging of the different parts and textures and not just a quick filter being applied - very creative! and beautiful the pair!

Girl you got skills!! One thing I love about this site is that you can be yourself and post what you love and know the best. That's why the photo manip was created so you could do what you do best. I'm really glad to see your own style being exhibited like this. This one really pops girl! Keep up your artistic style I for one love this image and can appreciate the time and effort involved. This is totally adorable! I've always adored your painting technique and this one is quite exceptional. Both Nellie and Moby look so vibrant, and I even like that little frown on Moby's sweet face. Wonderful! :o) CC

I like this a lot, Kimmers, and don't you worry about any purists...Anyone calling themselves a purist sounds like a person who doesn't have much fun. And this is fun! For me, the focal point in this photomanip is your daughters eyes. (Well, here eye, singular, since the right one is barely visible LOL) After that, my attention is drawn to the puppy's sad and worried eyes. So, you've done a good job here.
