Description

We have a marvelous waste facility here in the Cowichan Valley. All garden wastes are accepted free, and I believe it all becomes mulch for this area. Last time I went, with a carload of branches way too big for my little garden shredder, they were just replacing the full 'skips' for new, empty ones. (We toss our stuff over a railing to the big waste receptacles down below.) In the temporary absence of the waste bin, I saw that a tire was being used as a bumper against the wall, and inside the tire, a sweet little Queen Anne's lace flower was bravely making a home. Amazing how resilient Mother Nature is!

I agree with what you say, but just try and get something to grow where you want it and surely it will die.grass tries to take over my sidewalk but in my back yard I have bald places that refuses to grow grass that I want

A swan among the ugly ducklings! What a contrast...this demure little flower, sharing a home with the dead flotsam and jetsam of garden waste. Nature makes for strange bedfellows. Splendid POV and clarity in this capture, Chris!
