Description

This isn't one of those spectacular shots of a surfer on a 25' wave. It's just another day for these guys, these hard core surfers who brave this VERY cold water. Surfing in San Francisco is a very different animal from the surfing in southern California or Hawaii, where the water is warm and the sun is out. I do have a thing for surfers, especially since when you see them out there on this cold and foggy day, you know they love it, do it for the pure feeling of joy and peace of being in the water. They wait for whatever wave comes their way, and when the day is done, their smiles come from way down deep.

Terrific capture and composition, these guys have great skill, I like how you captured the moment one guy riding the top and another making it look so easy to his/her right! great shot, bravo!

It is something that has never appealed to me Marilyn, but then I am not a strong swimmer, I don't mind the swimming baths but I don't like swimming in the sea. Not off our shores anyhow, its not bad down Andrea's part of the country but my nearest one the water is brown, and you get all sorts floating in it. Excellent capture, I can watch these chaps no problem, I have respect for them also. Bravo!!!!!

Way out, dude! So who brought the beer? This is one fantastic capture, Marilyn, with those hardy surfers rolling and slipping among the waves. Great contrast displayed of the people amidst the ocean swells. Fortunately, or unfortunately, all of my surfing is done on the Internet.
