Description

Tré is nine years old. His parents were on the winning team in the Trifecta Venatorius on Saturday (see my post from yesterday for more information). He and his older sister and younger brother joined us for the barbeque and Olympics. After one person from each team (all adults) had taken turns bobbing for apples and oranges in a cooler full of very cold water, they were all shivering and complaining that the water was SO cold! Tré stuck his hand in the cooler, looked at me and said, "that's not so cold." I said, "It's a lot colder when you've got your head in the water!" He got all excited. "Can I stick my head in the water?" Then he decided I wasn't the one to ask, and turned to his mother. "Mom! Mom! Can I stick my head in the water?" She gave her permission, and he bravely dunked his whole head in the cooler. "Wow! That IS cold!" Then ALL the kids had to do it. They lined up to dunk their heads in the water - apparently it was very exciting! There were no apples to bob for, mind you ... they just wanted to stick their heads in the water. I'm pretty sure Tré did it twice. This photo was taken earlier in the afternoon, when he was still dry. :) Cute kid, huh?

Great image, Tara! Tre's eyes show a very special something...together with his smile, I see a sort of 'knowingness' and a developing excellent sense of humour. Lovely.

There is a sweetness reflected in his eyes. Is it his inner boy or is it you behind the camera?

My eyes used to be just like his, that dark brown, now they have grey flecks in them. When I was 15 years old we had a student teacher at school that I had a crush on, 40 years on I met her at a craft fair, she came straight up to me and gave me a hug. I hadn't a clue who she was at first, then as I stood back I realised, we got talking and she said she had a crush on me when at school, she told me I had come to bed eyes and it took all her control to resist me. She is still a good looking lady, but we are both married and nothing came of it. I guess my eyes ain't so sexy anymore. Lol. Superb portrait of this good looking young man Tara, I can see some broken hearts in a couple more years time. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!
