Description

This is the test cover for the graphic novel I'm considering doing: The Freelancers. The first story arc would be the "Vault on the Edge of Space." The series would follow the crew of the Hard Bargain in a neglected area of human-controlled space known as the Free Colonies. The Free Colonies border the "Orion Expanse", that big empty space between our spiral arm and the next inward. The Expanse is home to many very old stars, some of which house the ruins of races over a billion years old...and some house things that could threaten all of humanity. The crew of the Hard Bargain work as a courier service for sensitive cargo, kind of like an armored car service. They must deal with pirates, crooked corporations, alien cultures, secretive employers, and, ultimately, some very dark, forgotten remnants of once-great civilizations that went extinct before even the dinosaurs walked the earth. Pictured here are Shiva Reece, the captain and a former military empath. Dante, a member of an interplanetary law enforcement agency who was drummed out for mysterious reasons, and MacKenzie, the ship's mechanic. Not pictured are Pascal; a pilot who relies more on his amazing math skills instead of gut reflexes, Laithe-7; an AI robot with two bodies and an all-too human need to belittle those not as smart as he, and Dr. Rina Fujimori, a doctor, chemist and exploratory scientist who has a bigger mercenary streak than anyone else onboard. I'm still on the fence about doing it, but this, and some previous pics I've posted here, would basically be the quality and style of artwork that I'd put into it.

In that case, you'd better get to writing this story. Cause I want to read it! on a brighter note, love the artwork and look forward to more related to this epic.

Great scene. I'd definitely be interested in following this story if you choose to go through with it. The setup you describe has infinite potential.
