Description
This 'creature' is actually quite beautiful at close range. It is growing at the end of the long pale green stem you see, which is resting on the surface of the water in this garden-pond-in-a-barrel I saw. The stem bends as if it were a finger crooked to beckon you and these lovely scentless(?) flowers at the end of the upraised portion of the finger and leaning on the inner edge of the barrel are quite thick and a bit waxy. I wonder if they are some variety of water lily? Might be worth zooming in and any suggestions are very welcome.

Super capture of a lovely flower species which is absolutely new and alien to my eyes, Chris! Actually, it has absolutely no resemblance to the reptilian monster from that storied movie.

It's Aponogeton crispum ( may have spelt that wrong) The long thin floating leaf in the background gives it away!
