To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

oh, cartooning is a great art, and I love the line you got here. Yeah, I can see Larson. I can also see some of the New Yorker people, even a touch of George Booth (Einstein's eyes and hair). I love the touch of color in the two offerings, and I really love the lettering. (Reminds me of Steingberg.) It's such a shock to see such a minimalist piece from you! A fun change of pace! I half expect a swirl of galaxies to drop down on the two—Magritte would just laugh and Einstein would feel right at home. I even like your little word-bubbles—done with real panache. Lots of fun, a great meeting (they'd have gotten along), and I hope you do more like it. Then, when you return to your budding mystical visions, you can tell your soul "I took a little break..."

I think it's healthy for creatives to experiment with many different styles and forms of self-expression and take new risks. We can always return to our preferred paths with new insights. Great concept here. It made me smile this morning. You may have a hidden cartoonist in you that needs more coaxing and exploring. I like the lines and the minimal coloring in this. : )

Its good to see 'real' line art or cartoons whatever. Makes one realise that sketching is really the root of all our work (or should be). Lars will like this I'm sure!
