Description

AlooooooHa! Another shot in this series from the Waikupahaha flow on the Big Island. I noticed that the big spectacular explosions while fun to watch did not come out as well as the smaller ones. Every once in awhile you get a small explosion which manages to avoid the complete highlight blow out of the image. I managed to get a shot here minus the two guys who were sitting on the ridge all night. If you notice in this image you can see the faint glow of the plume in the background. This signals that the break of day is coming. Stay tuned as day break brings dramatic changes. Mahalo's for taking the time to view my little series and all the kind comments from my previous posts. Aloha to all~

While you were shooting this beautiful lava/sea explosions, I wondered up hill about 3/4th of a mile away from you and followed the network of lava tube underground. Its not a straight path from the Pali(hill) to the ocean entry as it curves towards you. Be careful buddy or the lava might head towards and under you. Did you feel the heat under you? Nice capture. Aloha

Of course Errol would wander off, it's always so interesting when two people go to the same place, what you see and find can be so different!!

I liked the first photo the best, the figures on the crest looked like they were "in it".... Now that they're gone... I guess we don't get to see any action shots of them running on fire - lol great shot and series.

LOL I actually like the two guys in your pix. Not only do they give it scale, but they add a dimension of drama. Will he explode into flames in the next shot, or won't he? Will we get to see him running away? LOL. Just kidding. They're all wonderful, and as I just said in my other comment, I'm so happy you're sharing these with us. Hugs and all that good schtuff -M :^)
