Description

morning all :o) this is a hydranger from my garden .its got lovely big heads on it at the moment which stand out from everything else .i took this yesterday when there was a lull in the weather .it was a strange day .heavy showers ,howling wind and brilliant hot sunshine every 20 minutes or so .typical english summer weather :o)..i was also playing about with exposure and shutter speed using nd filters trying to capture wind movement in the trees and bushes .i got some very good results and learnt quite a bit although the shots are nothing spectacular :o).. thanks for looking and take care mick

Beautiful!! At least we had some decent rain down here, although the weather has been dull and no good for the beach it has been one of the dryest summers I can remember. I've had to water my hydrangeas time and again!

Nice shot! There aren't any pink ones here, only blue, probably the acidity of the soil...

Gorgeous hydrangea! I love that vivid pink. As Denise says ... ours are blue. Even the pink ones are pale and sort of lavender-colored.

Days dedicated to the learning experience are always good days for me even when the results are not perfect captures. Just learning what works to what degree is very satisfying. The clarity and saturation on this is outstanding, Mick. Have you any word yet on your test results or did I miss it? I have thought much about you and I'm wishing you were put at ease.

We have a standing joke about hydrangea's in this house Mick, they are not called by that name at all. When I first moved into this house 22 years ago there was a massive plant under the window and it blocked the view. So I set about removing it, it must have been an old one as it was nearly as thick as my wrist, I cut it back as far as I could, then I took an axe to it. Problem was the axe glanced off at an angle and I smashed my nuckles against the wall, quite a few choice words came out of my mouth and ever since then its been called a ?!$%& plant. I still think they are quite a nice plant to look at, and this is no exception, but I will never have another one in my garden. Excellent capture mate, and our weather is just the same as yours, rain sun rain, but more rain than sun. Bravo!!!!!

LOL at Jeff; I have many things like that growing in my yard--especially that new rose--the !@$!@#!# rose--I have LOTS of those!!! BE that as it may, this is gorgeous; we have them all over here as well, including deep blues and purples.

Great macro Mick, beautiful colours, lovely flower. We have a whole long road here in the west of the Island, known locally as hydrangea avenue, there are so many of them neatly spaced along the road.
