Description

Hi Friends, I have just at the spur of the moment decided to upload an image this morning. Partly because I miss you all so much and partly to make me feel better. This is just a tranquil scene of a mommy Mallard and her three babies which I captured a couple of weeks back. Just a quick update on the health side... After my 17 days of antibiotics for the bronchitis and sinus infections, I have come down on Sunday with the Coxsackie Virus. It is of the same family as the polio virus but obviously not as dangerous. My youngest son picked it up a couple of weeks back and has now graciously passed it on. It is horrible and the sad thing is, because it is viral, there is no treatment. I am covered in a rash (much like german measles) from head to toe - even the white of my eyes, and this morning, as an added extra, all my joints (ankles, knees, hips, hands) are swollen and so bitterly painful. It takes about 5 days to clear - today being day 3 for me... It is highly contagious, so I am working from home... The show must go on!! Thanks for popping in and for your valued comments on this image and my previous uploads. Miss ya all. Hugs, Carin xx

Oh, Carin! This is awful! I never heard of this but when you use the word polio I shutter, even if it is a mildly related virus. Polio in my time was a living nightmare. I imagine the rash and joint pain is difficult physically, but mentally, this is just too difficult. I wish I could help. Contagious or not, I have no problems helping the quarantined... when I was young, I had several illness that required quaranteen. I always appreciated the one person who would venture in to help me. Get better... I have missed your uploads and cheery comments. I hate being separated from you and Bruce like this. LOL

lol @ PJ. Thank you dear friend! I must admit - it is a rather lonely road!!! The joints are slightly better at the moment but nighttime is creeping up on us and then it is usually worse again... I got some serious immune boosters today and have started taking it. Hopefully it will get me up and running in NO time. Miss you all!!! xx

First of all, am extremely sorry about your current physical state, which also affects one's mental state. When it rains it pours. Fine POV employed in this shot of mommy mallard and her brood, Carin. Rocks look impressive also.

Hi Carin, you have my best wishes and prayers to get well soon. I have had the odd ugly virus myself thanks to the mosquito population of my fair land so I can feel for where you are now. I hope this will all pass very soon as you have lots of preparations to do now. I have also been in the Carin/Bruce situation as my wife was an overseas internet friend once who chose to pay me a visit. It's a lot scarier when they arrive, trust me hehe. Probably shouldn't have written that last bit as it won't help the nerves but you never know, it might work as it did for us. Get well soon
