Description

As I was driving around on the dirt roads I spotted this dilapidated ruin and wind mill. The place was abandoned but the water was sweet and good. I wondered how many families lived here and shared love, joy and also tears.

Splendid, I can just see you out there, camera in hand, with a big smile watching this beautiful sky. You sure have the talent to show off the beauty of your surroundings. I've always had a 'thing' for windmills, I guess because they are so rare. There is one in my home town that is in the loveliest setting, I will have a to get a picture of it next time I am home, sure hope its still there. Love this one Piet well done~~

I look at this image and I feel that I want to say something poetic, but nothing is forthcoming right at this moment. It is a poetic scene though Piet - everything about it - from the dramatic skies to the humble dwelling (ruin) and the ever present windmill. What a wonderful image to show off the SA countryside. This is a magnificent image and wonderful work. Congrats my friend, I still have soooooo much to learn from you. :)

Incredibly beautiful image! Outstanding dramatic sky and colors! It invokes feelings of nostalgia and warmth rather than melancholy. If only those walls could talk and tell the story of the lives that were lived and loved there. Though exotic to my eyes and locale, it could be anywhere and speaks a language we can all understand. Incredible work and talent, Piet.

A lovely sky over a lonely place. Lots of spots like this one on the American Great Plains. Glad the well and wind pump still worked for the passing artist!
