Description

This image was just an excuse to try something in Vue that I don't remember having seen in another Vue image. Most probably it was done, I just didn't see it. I'm talking about the translucency on the top of the waves that is commonly seen in reality but even more so in classic 2D paintings. I wanted to try it in Vue. It took me 2 or 3 hours until I got it just the way I wanted it. I like the final result, I hope you do to. The only postwork in this image is some of the occasional foam. Oh, and don't forget to zoom in to see the poor fellow... Thanks for watching! EDIT: I created a thread in the Vue forum with the most important pointers to get this effect, if anyone's interested.

WOW. Not only are the wave terrain really good, but your work on the translucency of the water. I'd say that poor fella is really screwed. Superb work.

This is Stage Three: Chaos If one remains alert, there is a hope to go upwards without being drowned by madness... that's stage three, chaos.

You succeeded with the special water effect !!!! Looks very impressive - I wouldn´t like to be in there. The pic reminds of a sailing tour, when we got into a storm. I got seasick and felt like the guy .... A technical comment: May be you could improve the realism by adding some haze - according to the stormy sea.

Fantastic image! Beautiful, beautiful water render. This picture leaves little doubt at how insignificant we are compared to Mother Nature. Excellent render my friend!

That REALLY looks like sea-water. Looks like it took forever to render, too! WOW, this is really kick-ass. You going to release this material as a freebie or such? I'd really like it!
