To my darling Mary,
To whom I miss, so much,
I miss the sparkle in your eyes,
I miss your tender touch;
I miss your laugh, your smile,
The softness of your hair;
I miss all of your sweet love,
Oh, I wish that I were there;
The times we laid together
And spoke of hopes and dreams,
Of how we'd share our lives forever,
Entwined like water in a stream.
Ever since the day that I met you,
I knew that I had a blessed fate,
In you and only you,
I had found my true soul mate.
I wrote this letter a while ago
And gave it to a friend,
So that he could mail it to you,
Should I meet an untimely end;
If you are reading these words now,
You know that I have passed,
And know that I thought of you,
Until I breathed my last.
Please don't blame those who sent me
To this foreign land,
Or even those who caused my end
By their angry hand;
They only did what they believed in,
Just like you or I,
So mourn me well but not for long,
And look up to the sky.
Someday you'll meet another,
For your life must go on,
And know that I've always loved you,
Your devoted husband, John.

Wow, Joe, I always love it when someone puts a verse to a picture but in this case the verse overwhelmed the picture. And love may not have been the right word but I am sure you know what I mean. These beautiful words sent a shiver through my soul and brought a tear to my eye. You are a special kinda guy to have created such a piece of work.
