Description

Don't quote me but I think this is "Hakea laurina" (Pin-cushion Hakea) a native of South Western Australia. Hakea-after Baron von Hakea, 20th Century botanist. Laurina-laurel-like, of the leaves. Will take a few more photos as it opens & post them when time permits. Thanx for the comments on my first real macro image. At least flowers stay still.

"At least flowers stay still!" In the UK this 'summer'(LOL) they haven't! A constant breeze or even gale at times means that nothing has been still!!! This is a beautiful clear photo, of a very strange structure, thankyou for showing us!!!
