Description

Actually captured this one with my 75-300. Starting to get the hang of shooting medium size insects with it. The longer working distance (than my couple inches I have with the macro) is very helpful. This is an American Bumble Bee. Cute furry guys that are pretty big (about 1"+ in length) and very active. This one never stopped moving, rarely even landing on a flower. Just gathered its food while in mid-air! I personally really love all the shades of yellow in it. Excellent image. The colors are great and the focus is pin sharp. I really like the DOF and the fact that you caught him in midair. I seldom try Bee shots because all I ever get in captures with their heads in the bloom and their butts in the air, lol. Thanks for sharing. Lee

Wonderful image! The surrounding flowers and lovely background DOF make a beautiful setting for this handsome fellow with his pollen covered legs. Great in flight capture!
