"Arise! Arise! Arise, you Gods of the Kingdom of Sumer! Ishtar has not returned! The crops have died, the season is hot and mankind is doomed without your help. I demand a council of the Gods; my Lady must be brought back to the world of the living. Counsel must be made with the Dark Maiden to bring life back to the land."
Ninshubar, Goddess of the Air, and Ishtar's loyal and powerful vizier, sounds the alarm when Ishtar fails to return from the underworld. The seasons have stopped, crops have withered and the living world is stuck in high, hot summer. Something must be done to save the world and it's going to require the power of the pantheon of Sumerian Gods themselves to resolve the dilemma between the warring sisters.
Ninshubar bangs her gong to demand council with Anu the Sky Father and Ninhursag the Earth Mother, parents of both Ishtar and Ereshkigal to settle the dispute between these archrival sisters. Without the Goddess of Love mankind is doomed to starvation and the world is turning to dust.
My first blonde deity and while it was genetically impossible for blondes to exist in ancient Mesopotamia I think the Goddess of Wind and Air looks good as a blonde. And she's a Goddess, so if she wants to be a blonde, she gets to be a blonde :-)

First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you for the dedication! This is a wonderful image (and I'm not just saying that because you dedicated it to me). The lighting and shadows look very natural and the character's pose is so expressive. I also love the distorted reflection on the gong. This is a really strong and compelling series you've got going, with a nice pace to it. I agree with IdonnO when he says this is a mess the sisters have created and I wonder how this gets resolved. Please keep them coming.

I can practically hear the gong's resonating crash! Great job on lighting and materials and I really like the concerned expression on Ninshubar's face.
