Description

I drive up and see this whole family with the father and all. I tell them the dangers and say that a mother gator protection her eggs. They pay me no mind. So I drive up the road and turn around and come up to them again. The old man there walk to my truck to talk to me and he saw some crackers I had in the truck and he ask for them. I thought his grandkids wish for some food so I give it to him. He in turn give it to the young lady in the dress and she started to thow the crackers to the gators lol. I told them they not ducks at the park and then I told them what the park ranger say at the Grand Canyon when I went there. Park range had to kill about 40 deer a year because people feed the deer and they get mad if you do not feed them or did not give them more food. and they try or will hurt you. Plus they eat stuff that is not good for them and they are staveing to death so the park rangers have to kill them. them old man just ask me if I was there to take people picture as the gator eat them. The last photo I show the younger gator check out the crackers while the big mom gator just looks on at the people. Gator have head at angle to the ground. Mother gator have the patience of Job or if you do not know that saying means a lot of patience. I wonder about people at time and wonder how we got so far in life? guess it just grace we are where we are in the world. oh you can feed the ducks and birds at the park. that ok or at your house you can feed the birds. But other animals let them get they own food. thanks for looking and comments and wonder what some people thinking

Some people are complete idiots. They feel they can do whatever they like and that the rules were meant for others not them. Well, mother nature is waiting patiently for the right moment and then... Great series of pictures. Take care

Jocko, I always laugh so much at your stories!!! About this: "...old man just ask me if I was there to take people picture as the gator eat them." If I were you, I would have said, "Oh, yes, I'm here to take pics as the gators eat the people. Here, give it another cracker. Make sure you get close!" lolol!! WHOooooo would have thought a gator would want to eat crackers anyway???? geez, some people!! HAhahaah!!!! But thank you so much for taking these pictures and sharing the story! Been away for a while, but I missed your photos!! Gonna look through your gallery. : )

I never feed wildlife unless they are in a captive situation and depend on tourists feeding them. I throw bird seed into the grass in the back yard and I do have a feeding station for squirrels but normally I only see action at them in the fall and winter which is good. No human dependency - they will live longer. I love your photos of this gator event. The gators are well seen and the people reflect their lack of wisdom.

Pretty good shots, Jock! What a bunch of loons. Crackers are for parrots, not alligators!!!!! I bet the momma gator would like to take a big chomp out of one of those sexy babes.

This is so insane how these people tempt fate. Then, when something tragic happens...due in large part to their own stupidity...the gator has to be killed because it attacked a human. They are doing what comes naturally...we, as humans, are supposed to be more civilized and intelligent, somewhat!!!

Some folks just do whatever comes into their head and see it as passionate and primitive.

LOL, don't worry, Jock! There are laws against alligators eating people, and they'll sue somebody if anything bad happens. I'm rooting for you snapping the award-winning news shot and selling it to the papers, and for the alligators owning the place as they should. They think you're the one that's stupid. I'd just quit bothering to warn people since they take offense at it anyway. Maybe a handout about somebody getting killed doing what they're doing is better-- then you can hand out photocopies of the news article after you make some bucks. Good documentary of the alligators in the weeds.

The stupidity of some people never cease to amaze me at times and the gators will be the victims in the end. Great shots, Jocko!

Amazing. I just read some statistics on people being killed by alligators. A lot of them were SWIMMING at the time! Can you believe anybody would go swimming where there were gators?

How could this old man let his whole family get in such a danger ? Oh well, i imagine those animals were well fed already, especially if there are many fools like that...

Great story, Jocko!! I look forward to the pics of the eating of a stupid person, they certainly deserve it! Because people feed ducks in the parks with white bread a lot of them are malnourished. My garden birds get proper food, 5 different sorts of seed, and wholemeal bread scraps. They are so used to good food they won't touch white bread if my lodgers throw some out, it just goes mouldy!

I agree Jock.People are so dumb some times.A lot of people do not know but some birds salt will kill a bird from crackers.I guess that is why God did not give them salt and pepper shakers huh ;)

I guess it ain't too bad if they stay in the back of the truck like that but the man and woman stood looking are plum crazy. I would have told him crackers are no good for gators but they love people that are crackers like you. People will just not listen to sound advice, I would tell them they are tame and want to be stroked, and take a shot just has one bites an arm off. Excellent captures and a very good narrative, some people will never learn. Bravo!!!!!
